royal armouries temporary exhibition hall, Leeds

Albert Innes have recently completed the Electrical Installation at the Royal Armouries where the existing Level 04 and 05 Hunting Gallery space has been transformed into the new Temporary Exhibition Hall.

​The newly refurbished Exhibition Hall will initially accommodate the Gladiators: Heroes of the Colosseum exhibition with many other events to follow.
 
The Electrical Installation comprises of the mains distribution system and cable containment for, Small Power, Fire Alarm, PAVA, Data, Security/CCTV and the LED Lighting installation.
The lighting installation incorporates the existing lighting tracks with new LED spotlights all wirelessly controlled via scene setting kinetic switches.
The existing Data, Security, PAVA and wireless fire alarm systems have been adapted and modified to suit the new space.

Albert Innes have recently completed the Electrical Installation at the new state of the art regional Pathology Centre for Laboratory Medicine at St. James University Hospital in Leeds.
The Electrical Installation has been built using the most advanced equipment and technology.  The Installation comprises of mains distribution system and cable containment for submains, small Power and LED lighting installation.
The trust have developed a  world-class Pathology building that is flexible, digital by design and that supports the delivery of net zero carbon. It is fully mechanically ventilated with heat recovery systems to minimise power and re-use heat and is on track to achieve high certified standards in staff wellbeing and sustainability. 
The new building will enable routine and direct access testing from fewer sites and will create better working environments for staff and will make the continuity and transfer of care easier across the region.

The office provides the highest quality workspace in the city, with ground floor break-out space, business lounge and café kitchen. Now open and ready for occupation providing flexible workspace for up to 400 people.

The electrical installation comprised of new Mains Distribution systems, UPS system, Backup Generator, Cable containment systems, for the Security/CCTV installation, lighting and small power. The LED lighting installation has organic controls. Each light fitting has an integrated node which communicates wirelessly with the adjacent nodes and delivers light only where needed.

FOSS PARK HOSPITAL, YORK

Albert Innes were proud to be involved with the Foss Park Hospital project.
 
The new 72 bed hospital forms part of a wider project to transform mental health care across York and Selby. The state-of-the-art facility provides two adult, single sex wards and two older people’s wards – one for people with dementia and one for people with mental health conditions such as psychosis, severe depression or anxiety.
 
All patient accommodation is provided on the ground floor, has single, en-suite bedrooms and offers access to safe outdoor spaces in gardens and landscaped courtyards.
 
A big well done to our site foremen, Andy who managed the project and a team of around 35 Albert Innes electricians on site throughout the project.

The facility provides a vital sterilisation and decontamination service for instruments and equipment used to provide medical and surgical procedures.

The Decontamination Unit is fed via a new mains distribution system and backed by the existing standby generator via a new auto transfer switch. The installation is also comprised of new lighting/emergency lighting, general & essential power installations, cabling containment systems, fire alarm system, door access security system, data installation and electrical supplies to mechanical and specialist equipment.

Albert Innes were proud to be involved with the new 4 floor Science Teaching Laboratories. The new £18.2m facility is due to open its doors in September 2019. The equipment within the ‘super lab’ will be made available to schools and colleges across the region, serving a 60-mile radius around Huddersfield.

The electrical installation comprised of a new mains distribution system, LED lighting and controls, LED emergency lighting, LED external lighting, general power installations, cabling containment for the fire alarm system, data cable infrastructure, AV system and mechanical supplies. The installation has more than 100 miles of power cabling serving various electrical systems.

Albert Innes were proud to be involved with the newly built GenesisCare Centre for diagnostics, oncology and wellbeing based in Windsor.  The centre opened their 15 million private cancer care centre in 2018, which offers the very latest in radiotherapy treatment and health and wellbeing services.  

The work comprised of a new mains distribution system, lighting and controls, emergency lighting, external lighting, general power installations, cabling containment systems, fire alarm system, nurse call system, data cabling & installations for the specialist manufacturers equipment.  This specialist centre includes works for an Elekta Linear Accelerator Machine, an MRI Scanner and X Ray room together with Consultation rooms and other facilities.  ​

Albert Innes won a prestigious contract from Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust to install a new UPS & IPS mains distribution system to provide life dependant electrical supply systems to the Geoffrey Giles Theatres.

£437,000 contract which will include the installation of a new UPS enclosure, a purpose-built steel platform to house the IPS units & all other related building works together with the installation of a chilled water system for cooling in the UPS enclosure.

St James's university hospital, Leeds

Albert Innes Ltd recently completed the upgrading of the 400V low voltage infrastructure at the Retail Complex in The Gledhow Wing, St James’s University Hospital, Leeds.

The work comprised of installing 2 no. 300mm 4c armoured cables fixed to heavy duty ladder rack from a newly located 11KV transformer to a refurbished main  switchboard. From this switchboard further sub mains cables  were installed to feed a number of new & existing sub switchboards feeding the retail units in the Gledhow Wing.

As part of this contract Albert Innes installed a number of electrical meters in the new switchboards which were linked onto the Hospitals BMS system.  Several mains changeovers were also successfully carried out working through the night to meet the client’s tight deadlines.

Albert Innes Ltd carried out the electrical installation of energy saving Voltage Optimisation units at the Yorkshire Building Society’s  Head Office at Yorkshire Drive, Bradford.

The work comprised of taking delivery, moving into position, cabling & installation of 2 no. EMS Powerstar 1500 KVA voltage optimisation units connected to the site’s 2 no. main incoming electrical supplies. In addition 2 no. 2000A TP air circuit breakers were installed to provide overall electrical protection of the site.

Due to the 24/7 operation of YBS’s head office, careful planning was required with the client’s IT & Engineering Staff over 2 weekends to achieve successful shutdowns & modifications to the 400V cabling from the sites 2 11KV Transformers to integrate the Voltage Optimisation units into the supply set up.
